Established in 2007, the Centre for Professional Skills Development in Public Health (CPSD) provides practical skill-based training for relevant public health priorities and needs, and encourages solution-oriented thinking to address practical real world challenges.

The world’s evolving 21st century public health challenges demand continual technical, managerial and leadership skills in order to implement health projects, work cross-sectorally, build scientific knowledge, analyse and innovate locally relevant community solutions.
The School’s national and international training hub strengthens and upgrades the requisite professional skills analysed by practitioners, policymakers, development partners, government officials, public advocates, faculty, researchers and frontline health workers.
Approximately 6457 health and development professionals have received training from the School and in joint collaboration with icddr,b, partner institutions and development partners.

The course on 'Literature Searching and Literature Review' has been designed to support in writing a literature review. The purpose of a literature review is to collect relevant research on a selected topic and synthesize those for conducting the original research. This course is aimed to reveal the reference works written by well-known authors whose subjects and content are closely connected to the selected subject of the research to be conducted. Hence, to bring the summary of existing perspectives of the original research to be conducted.
The course blends lectures on basic concepts of qualitative data analysis with hands-on exercises using NVivo, along with how to write and present qualitative findings.
